June Printables : Handbag!

Hey, don't put a sad face, June isn't officially end by the 30th, so there's still time for a printable to share! Let's not forget why I have a printable party on my blog this June, to celebrate a birthday! *wink-wink* If you want today's printable you have to answer this right, whose is it?

*chuckles*

It's mine, and don't feel bad about not knowing it or simply forget it, I'm just teasing you. So today's printable is perfect for a gift package to a friend who is having her birthday, or a birthday party favor containers at your little one next birthday, who knows, but I'm saying is this pink handbag is perfect for celebrating.

download.

Instruction is always simple, print, cut, and a little bit fold, et voila. (You can always ask if you're facing a problem or two, I shall help you with that) But don't forget to store something inside before you give it to someone. The back side is the one with a space for personal notes, you can either have a greetings or a lucky person's name on it, or even the recipe for what's stored inside, mmmm.... I'd like to have one of those gift (yum). Feel free to decorate with ribbons or buttons, but I'd like to see what you come up with, OK? Oh, and those two rectangles is a handbag handle, you should cut that away neatly. So.. do you have a lovely June this year? I hope you do, because I'm having fun this month!

A Weekend..

..tho world's not going to forget easily. I know there are already a bunch of posts in the blogosphere about the death of Mr. Jackson, so I will say little, just to show that I am in loss too of a legend.

There's no music, no persons, no songs, I grew up with, as the same amount as MJ's. May he rest in peace and make greater music up there. Happy weekend.

June Printables : Deer and Shroom Pattern Paper

Don't you just love patterned paper? Since I always give a predictable printable (say that fast! ...you know, I mean, the kind of printable which the only instruction would clearly be, print, cut, et voila!) Let your creativity runs wild this time with "deer and mushroom" patterned paper I just made. After printing you can make just about anything with this paper! Wrap a gift, construct a box, line an envelope, decorate a cupcake, the possibilities are even endless than my previous printables!!

I don't want to miss the fun too. Here's what I make with my "deer" paper: a miniature note book! I printed it at 25%, cut it, looked for some abandoned papers, cut-cut, and stapled, done! I really really love to look at your creations too, not just this one, all of your projects using one of my printables, don't forget to tell me, dearies!

I give out these printables free for personal use, no commercial purposes allowed. Please respect my rights as the maker, and don't do it behind my back, it hurts my feeling, really. And I may stop giving away free printable. And you might get boo-ed by my loyal readers. Just, don't be a jerk.

Enjoy your weekend!

June Printables : Father's Day Card

I'm a big Daddy's little girl. I mean, I used to be little, but still am a Daddy's little girl that now I'm already big and develop a major soft spot for my Dad. Confused? Well, in short, I love my Dad and I'm not ashamed to show that. I bet every woman does. Who always backs you up when you and mom are having an argument? Who always tell you, you're pretty all the time, even that time when you think Doc Martens boots and tutu skirt are made to be worn together (and those hideous shoulder pads)?

Daddy is often clueless about their little girl, not really aware that she is over the "pony and princess" period, not quite sure when does his little baby in pink attire suddenly change into an eyeliner and mascara obsessed teenager (screaming loudly in the virtual presence of an adolescent idol? Who?). But that's why I love my Daddy so much. So clueless about me yet his love is always genuine, as if I'm forever his little pony-riding princess. (No, as much as I wanted, I didn't have a pony as a child, speaking of a pony, I have never actually seen one alive.)
To honor the role of daddies in our lives, I present you the Father's day card printable. In Indonesia (that's where I lived), there's no Father's day on the calendar. Soo... yes, it's quite awkward for me (and probably my dad) to give him a present, or even send a greeting. Well, there's first time for everything, right?

If you're unsatisfied with this card, you can always make something. Here's some Father's day craft worth trying:
  1. Kojodesigns share a seriously cute Father's day card how-to.
  2. Transform an Altoid tin case into a mini toolbox for Dads by following Alpha+mom's tutorial.
  3. Does your Dad fancy some scratching? Head to DesignDazzle!
  4. Coffee lover Dads will love this hand painted mug by you. Yes, you!

June Printables, Continued!

What do you feel when you have a lot of things going on your mind, a lot of plans, a lot of things to share, in this case, for your blog, (don't forget you're feeling extra excited too) and then your computer when rrrr---rrrr--rrr-----*! It's completely dead! OK, you're turning it on again and it keep re-starting on its own? You'll probably go "GAA~~AAH!" (while holding your head with both hands), right? It just happened to me. By reading this post then you can guess correctly that my computer is now fine (thank you, now it is fine). The truth of what's causing the problem is a really red face material; I went to the reparation shop, nearly sobbing, but I'm a big girl and I can hold my tears, clutching the huge CPU, and told the man (oh, how I wished he knows about computer more than I do) on the counter the whole story. He finished a day later, I went graciously to pick my baby up.

"It's dirty". Yep. Nothing more, that's all he said. While I turned red, he talked in high-tech language I didn't understand, but I somehow know, that it's just a professional term of "dirty". According to him, my computer literally chucked up a huge fur ball, or dust ball, I don't care now it's working again and I'm already way over the embarrassing moment. Mental note: must dust and clean up the working table. Phew. Enough of the chit chat, let's continue our printable fiesta, shall we?
I promised you the bee envelope, didn't I? Here it comes. Download it here! I hope you've been enjoying your printables.

June Printables : Bees!

What's small, buzzing, and striped with black and yellow all over?

You're right! Bees! As a part of printable month, I present you The Happy Bee Family! Bee Sweet, Bee Lovely, and Bee Honey!! (A pretty lame word joke, but you get it, don't you?) This family is a note card set, but your imagination can determine their other purposes. You can hang them as mobile toys, cupcake toppers, lunchbag stickers, or a beautiful garland of bees, perhaps? The possibilities are endless! So what are you waiting for? Get them for free, here!

Basic instruction (as note cards) :
  1. Print the whole file in an A4 paper, preferably weighed more than 60 gsm.
  2. Cut out along the shapes.
  3. optional : Glue the front side of each bee into the back (stripy side). If you choose not to glue the bees, you will have 6 note cards instead of three. That's your choice, though.
  4. Write notes on the back of each card and enjoy.
You can make/buy a vellum envelope for these babies or you can wait for a matching envelope *wink wink*. Coming to you soon, ...tomorrow, next week, who knows? Keep me on your bookmark this June as more will coming your way!! Yaaaaay!!

Juniper, Jupiter, June!

I adore the month of June. Why? Because it's my birthday month!! Yaaaay!! I wish my name were June, I picture myself prettier if I were named June (how is that possible and what is the obvious relationship between looking good and a name? In case this is the first time you read my blog, welcome to my babbling wonderland. I guess my posts, much or little, show you how my brain works. Organized? Not so much.)

So, OK. I'd like to celebrate the happy month with all of you readers. I love you all, so I give what I do best. Printables!! Yaaaaay!! So, I decided to fill June's posts with as many printables to download as possible. I'm sorry but I am not promising any exact number, not with my brain and time, forgive me, but I assure you there will be more than 3. or 5. or 6. Ok, I can't tell, my apology. Well, enough babbling for you today, I hope you love my first June printable. Enjoy.

A is for..

...Award!! Yaaaaay!! (waving hands and throwing kisses away) I want to act like an actress on the red carpet sometimes. Do forgive me. I'm really blown away by an award I just got. I was thinking, "Who, me?", this would be my fourth and I'm really really appreciate all awards I have got and the people passing on those awards to me, this time, it's the lovely Indiestyle. I'm so honored to be on the list along with my daily reads, like cutable and TwigandThistle. I can't be compared to those great bloggers!!

So without further ado, I will continue the award's tradition and here goes..

...the rules of the award:

1. The winner may put the logo on her blog.
2. Put a link to the person you got the award from.
3. List seven things you love.
4. List seven blogs you love.
5. Leave a message for your nominees.

...things that I love: (in no particular order, just some random things crossed my mind :))

  1. "raindrops on roses and whiskers on kitten..." No, I don't mean I do really like those things, although I do, actually, but my point is that I love Sounds of Music so much.
  2. ..freshly baked bread.. mmmm .. who doesn't?
  3. ..washed and ironed bed sheets and pillow cases, that's why I cringe at 3 stars hotels' bed. I'd rather sleep in my own bed. Old, ugly, but always trusty.
  4. Dogs wagging their tails jumping up and down with eyes that say, "Sooooo haapppy tooo seee yoouuuu!! Where have you been all day? Happy! Sooo happy! Are we going to play? Now? Now? Please?.." and so on, every dog owner must know what I mean.
  5. Talking about animals...Penguins!! They're the cutest things in the world! How can they be so cute?
  6. ..and pandas!! I guess black and white looks good on animals.
  7. My friends and family!! So cliche, so true.

..... blogs that I love:

  1. blinking flights
  2. Kids Haus
  3. Penguin & Fish
  4. oh, hello friend
  5. katie did
  6. party perfect
  7. Art&Ghosts
That's it. Return to the real world now. Sigh.

I'm easily pleased.

I just bought this wooden paper clips and my whole life seems brighter in an instant. Am I dumb or plain too easy to please? Actually, I've got nothing to post today, instead, I do have something to tell you. I'm very sorry if some links didn't work yesterday, I don't have the clue how that happened either. Hopefully all download links will be working today too. And remember my Easter printable, the one with a bunny waving? It was once here only on Easter month, but due to popularity, I am reviving the poor bunny lad. You can always go back in time in Blogger, but here's the link, in case you're not on a rush. And it's forever on the web now.

So, anyway, if those clips can make my day, just imagine what your comments do to me. :)

Cuteness Invasion!

I love dolls. I am not ashamed to say it and I say it again: I love dolls. I grew up with lots of Barbies (No, I didn't cut their hair or pull their legs off, not that I'm not "creative" or simply mean, I just hate to see my toys ruined, I used to save my allowance buying them, why would I want to wreck them?) Carebears, and MyLittlePonies, but now I'm more into limited handmade dolls. They have more unique design and the whole look you won't find on the racks of mega toyshops everywhere.

Of course, as a kid, there's a stiff competition of "Have you had the latest Transformer/Barbie/Ben10/etc toys?" in the playground, and I swear by my pants, it's not easy not to be carried away. Suddenly your own esthetic is determined by your so-called playmates, and not having the latest trendiest toys is automatically getting wipe out of their friend list. Not to mention the daily advertisements intake and cartoon networks alike.

So, if I had the chance to be a kid again today, I'll invest on handmade, down to earth, friendly looking kind of dolls. Heck, even if I were a granny today, I buy one to keep me company. And talk about handmade dolls, meet my new friend beecah! Crafter extraordinaire and *drumroll* excellent doll maker! C'mon look at these lovelies! You don't have to be a kid to fall in love with these beauties aren't you? Interested? Read more to find out about beecah!

Hello, beecah!

When was the first time you interested in making dolls?
I only started making dolls last year, before that I was sewing anything else I could get my hands on, especially quilts and bags, making toys and dolls seemed to be a natural progression. Ever since I was a little kid, I have always been making, drawing, inventing, rearranging… always using my hands and my imagination.

What inspires you the most?
Everything and anything, but I really love children’s illustrations, especially Golden Books from the 1950s and 60s… I love the style of illustration!

Got a personal favorite and least favorite among your creations?
I seem to fall in love with each of the toys as I’m finishing them off, I’m quite fussy, so if I don’t like them, I generally pull them apart and change whatever it is that I don’t like about them, and if they can’t be salvaged, I cut them up and reuse the fabric. I really hate looking at ugly creations!
Two of my favourites are Ginger, a 7-eyed monster that I made at the beginning of the year, and Wendy, a squishy, red t-shirt material girl that I just gave away as part of The Toy Society project.
I love Ginger because she’s one of the first dolls that I really let my imagination run wild with, she has tiger stripped legs, and I think she’s a bit of a cutie for a monster. I love Wendy because she’s so simple, cuddly and loveable looking, and she was made in an excited flurry of imagination late at night.

If you're not making dolls, what would you do now?
I have no idea. I am trained as a photographer, but I seem to have lost my passion there…

Did you play with dolls as a child? What doll was it?
Yes! I was obsessed… my favourites were my Baby Alive, which I got for my 5th birthday, and a porcelain doll named Sanya that I still have at my parents house.

Do you have a doll that you carry along from childhood days?
I gave up most of my dolls when I was 11, in a bid to be a little more grown up! But I gave them to a little girl in my street and she loved them just as much as I did, so I don’t regret doing that. I still have a very special old teddy-bear named Jessica—who was my Mum’s, and who hangs out in the craft room with me.

What is your current dream doll?
Anything by Hillary at Wee Wonderfuls… her dolls are amazing!
Anything by Louise Bagnall, I love her style so much!
Anything by Allison Berry, she has a simple, funky style that makes me so jealous!

Do you suffer from occasional artist's block? Any tips for conquering it?
Sometimes. But I just try to go with the flow, and not force anything. Sometimes just sitting down and drawing gives me a bunch of new ideas, and the internet is great for inspiration, I spend hours on Flickr looking at other people’s amazing creations and styles! It fills me with positivity about my own ideas.

Thank you beecah!! All the best wishes for you and your little guys/girls!
